The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), also known as the Ex, is affectionately known as one of the great annual end-of-summer traditions and it’s back for its 138th season. It is the largest community event in Canada and one of the top five fairs in North America, welcoming up to 1.6 million visitors each year.
Planning business events means aiming to make the most out of time and resources. Sometimes scheduling downtime is pushed off to the side, and we forget that it’s essential for recovery, eliminating stress and optimal productivity. The CNE offers substantial entertainment value featuring seven music stages, 60 midway rides and more than 1,000 entertainers and performers. Plus, you’ll find hundreds of vendors and exhibitors at the Enercare Centre, Canada’s largest exhibition and convention centre with 1 million square feet of flexible event space.
The Ex is even better known for its over-the-top and outrageous foods and this year, there are at least 30 new ones to try, including the Cricket Hot Dog (topped with seasoned crickets), fried pig ear and The Threesome Burger. Of course, other crowd favourites like the Donut Burger will also continue to make their appearance at the concession stands.
The CNE runs August 19 to September 5. And if you go after 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it’s only $6 for admission. Let’s go to the Ex!
